Give each practice a purpose
Use one practice to identify the table areas, another to narrate a sample turn, and another to check a finished record. Keep the aim small enough that everyone has time to explain a decision. Learning a sequence is easier when the group is not also racing to finish.
Rotate the explanation
Ask a different player to read the reference each time. Another player should paraphrase it and point to the relevant place on the table. This makes uncertainty visible while it is still easy to correct.
Keep questions separate
Write down a question when it appears and resolve it before using the situation in a regular game. Do not quietly turn an improvised answer into a house rule. If you do agree a change, label it explicitly and keep it beside the chosen source.
End with a short review
Ask each player to name one thing they can now explain and one thing they still need to check. Send the group the starting route so everyone can return to the same reference. This is an original practice plan, not a set of official game rules.
